Clearly, the most important part of the human body is the brain. All body functions depend on how the brain works and processes things. If you are a smart-ass, then you’ve got a good and powerful brain. If you’re a dumb-ass, sad to say, but you’ve got a weak piece of meat inside your skull. But worry no more, men are not destined to have weak brains, if they know the ways to enhance brain power.
Reading. One of the most common and accessible ways to enhance brain power is through constant mental exercise. Every day, make it a habit to stretch your brain cells. One great way of exercising the brain is through reading. When we read, the front area of the brain’s parietal lobe becomes more active. But according to MRI research, reading causes activity all over the brain. And when the brain is more active, it functions better. The brain is like a muscle. Reading is like working out which causes the muscles to become stronger. Research also shows that people who read more have better chances of withstanding the harmful effects of lead exposure. Reading causes a higher level of brain protection against damaging elements.
Learn New Things. This works hand in hand with reading. It is highly recommended that while we still can, let’s not stop from obtaining new knowledge. Learning new things consistently through reading, observing and discussing keeps the brain at work and sharp. Learning a new language is a very good example of this. Trying to remember or memorize details sharpens the brain.
Work on Puzzles. Do I really have to explain this? Just like in reading and learning new things, working on puzzles keeps the brain busy and at work. As I mentioned earlier, a consistently active brain is one the best ways to enhance brain power. Different types of puzzles include riddles and situational puzzles, logic puzzles, mechanical puzzles, word puzzles and video games.
Foods Good for the Brain. Your diet can definitely make a huge impact on the over-all performance of your brain. It is highly advised that you choose the right kinds of food that will boost your brain health. Go for foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. This can be found in oily fish, flaxseeds and walnut oil. Omega-3 fatty acids help in maintaining a healthy nervous system by preventing blockages in the blood vessels of the brain. I suggest you try wild salmon which is a very good source of high-quality seafood protein, rich in essential fatty acids and is low in saturated fat. Another recommended food is tomato, which contain lycopene that is a very powerful anti-oxidant. It fights free radicals that can damage brain cells. You also may want to add fresh sage in your diet because it is known to help in improving memory. Other foods that can enhance the brain power include coffee beans, blueberries, cacao beans, broccoli, legumes, tuna and yogurt.
Music. This can also be an essential factor towards the development of our brain functions. According to research, music training can help improve memory. But not all kinds of music can be â€œpro-brainâ€. According to studies, baroque music and specifically Mozart’s music can activate the left and right brain. The simultaneous action between the left and right brain maximizes our skills in information retention and learning. So I guess itâ€™s time to dump those hard metal hits and shift to classical.

Taking care of our brain is very essential to our overall health. Developing its functions is equally as important.
