On January 21, 2010 Toyota announced the recall of some 2.3 million vehicles that involved eight models which may have a remote case of a sticking accelerator pedal. As of the latest, Toyota suspends sales of the eight models and they are doing their best to deal with the situation.

Toyota division general manager and a group vice president of Toyota Motor Sales USA, Bob Carter said that the company is just doing the right thing by stopping the sales of the models involved until they find a solution to this crisis. Some clients have complained that allegedly, the sticking accelerator pedals have caused accidents already. This is the main reason Toyota suspends sales of the eight models because the company does not want further damage.
