The 5-year-old Shaniya Davis of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was found dead last Monday in the woods of a rural area in Sanford. She has been missing since October 2. This poor girl was kidnapped, raped, and killed by the alleged suspect, Mario Andrette McNeill. According to autopsy reports, the cause of death of Shaniya Davis was strangulation. McNeill was the person identified in the recorded videos of a hotel security system, carrying Shaniya Davis. Three charges have been thrown on McNeill – first degree kidnapping, first degree rape and first degree murder. Slam that to your face!
Yesterday, Oprah Winfrey interviewed Shaniya Davis’ father, Bradley Lockhart, along with Shaniya’s aunt, Carey Lockhart-Davis. It was a very emotional segment. Lockhart told Oprah, “Right now, I just think it’s best that we let the justice system take its course,” Lockhart said. “I try to keep my heart as pure as possible, and I’m sure one day I will be able to sit down and talk to her, try and understand what was going through her mind.”
“My heart and the country’s heart bleeds for you,” Winfrey said, referring to Lockhart and his family.
Aside from McNeill, Shaniya Davis’ mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, was also charged with human trafficking, child felony and filing of false police report. Nicole rented out her daughter as sex slave. She was arrested last Saturday.
The end of Oprah Winfrey Talk Show was also announced that same day. After almost 25 years of touching lives of millions of people across the world, The Oprah Winfrey show will be saying goodbye in 2011. Why is Oprah ending her show? That’s the question that only Oprah can answer.
