A lot of gay couples cheered when a bill legalizing gay marriage in New York was passed Friday evening. Many Hollywood stars were delighted too about the latest in the city of New York (see Same Sex Marriage Now Legal in New York) including Neil Patrick Harris. He wrote in his Tweeter account about the good news and he tweeted, “It PASSED, Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!” it seems that Harris and his longtime boyfriend David Burtka are just waiting for the Marriage Equality Bill to be passed and they will soon get married.
When asked about proposing to his boyfriend, Burtka said that he already did to which Harries confirmed. According to the star of How I Met Your Mother, they have already proposed to one another about five years ago. In fact they already have engagement rings and just waiting for the right time to get married. And last October 2010, through the help of a surrogate, Harries and Burtka became parents to twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace. Other Hollywood stars who are equally elated about the passing of the bill include Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Lance Bass, and Andy Cohen. Big stars including Ricky Martin, Ellen DeGeneres, Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, Mandy Moore, and Katy Perry all tweeted their approval.
