The U.S. Team Made it to the 2011 Gold Cup Final

The United States on its 4th time is back again in the Gold Cup final. Thanks to Clint Dempsey who gave the U.S. team its winning score 1-0 against Panama last Wednesday night during the semifinals. The winning play was set up by Freddy Adu who gave a slanting pass to Landon Donovan. In the 77th minute off, Dempsey sent the winning score and it was such a sweet victory for the US team who lost big time during the group play last June 11.

The U. S. team was defeated by Panama with a score of 2-1 and it was such a devastating loss for the United States because it has never happened during group stage of the tournament. The U.S. team always wins over Panama in international play so their loss really came as a shock. In the next three games that followed, the U.S. team did not give their opponents any chance at all. During the quarterfinals, it was also Clint Dempsey who led the U.S. team to a 2-0 victory against Jamaica.

On Saturday, the United States will vie in the championship match against Mexico and it will be held at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA. The 2011 Gold Cup was participated by 12 teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat, 105-95 to capture the 2011 NBA Finals Title. Dirk Nowitzki showed excellent 4th quarter performance to help his team get past the heat and win the series, 4-2.

During the first half, when Nowitzki was having rough times on the court, Jason Terry took charge of the scoring by sinking in 19 points. The Mavs were up by 2 at the half, 53-51.

Nowitzki took over the closing period, scoring layup after layup in the final minutes, sealing the victory for the Mavs. Nowitzki compiled 21 points and 11 rebounds while Terry scored 27 points. Jason Kidd scored added 9 points and 8 assists. J.J. Barea and Shawn Marion scored 15 and 12 points respectively.

The Miami Heat gave their all but it wasn’t enough. Lebron James scored 21 points, Dwayne Wade was limited to 17 points while Chris Bosh added 19. The Heat will be back to the drawing board as they analyze their mistakes in the series.

Let’s not forget Jason Kidd, who also got his first NBA title. He is now 38 years old and this season might be his last. What a sweet ending to an unforgettable career for the all-star point guard.

It was indeed a double victory for Dirk Nowitzki. Besides the NBA crown, he was declared as the Finals MVP. The Dallas Mavericks has finally etched their revenge over the Heat who defeated them in the Finals last 2006. Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for winning the 2011 NBA Championships!

NBA Finals 2011 – Dallas (112) Beats Miami (103) in Game 5 to Gain 3-2 Series Lead

It was close game all through-out. Lebron James did his best to take over the game with a triple-double but in the closing minutes of the game, he had an offensive foul and missed a crucial 3-pointer.

With just 1:26 left in the clock, the Mavs were up by five, 100-105. Bosh splits his two free throws, leaving Dallas with 4-point lead. Jason Terry then makes a huge 3-pointer to put their lead up to 7 points, 100-108. Lebron goes for a layup to put the lead down to five. The Heat went for an intentional foul and Kidd hits the two free throws, putting the Dallas lead back to seven, 103-110. Wade missed a 3-pointer in what seems to be their last hope. Terry closes the game by sinking two free throws. The game ends at 103-112. Dallas wins Game 5 and is now in the brink of winning the 2011 NBA Finals, with a 3-2 series lead.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points, including a game-turning dunk with 2:45 remaining on the clock. Four other Mavs players had double-digit scores. Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler finishes with 13 points apiece, J.J. Barea scored 17 points and the late game hero, Jason Terry, scored 21 points.

Lebron James promised to improve his game (and who said it’s “now or never”) but failed to deliver, again, in the fourth quarter. However he finishes up with a triple-double, 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Dwayne Wade finishes up with 23 points and 8 assists despite having a hip injury. Chris Bosh added 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Dallas Mavericks will have a chance to close the series and win the NBA title on Game 6 as they head back to Miami on June 12th. The game starts at 8PM EDT.

The Dallas Mavericks came from behind and took out the Miami Heat, 86-83, to win Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals. The series is now tied at 2 games apiece.

Dirk Nowitzki led the scoring with 21 points despite battling a flu but the hero of the game was starting center, Tyson Chandler, who had a double-double performance grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 13 points. Shawn Marion and Jason Terry contributed to the firepower of the Mavs by adding 16 points and 17 points respectively.

Lebron James was limited to only 8 points but had a near triple double performance with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Dwayne Wade had another monster scoring game with 32 points. Chris Bosh gave a solid performance with 24 points and 6 rebounds.

Miami Wins Game 3 Vs Dallas – Heat Leads NBA Finals Series 2-1

The Miami Heat finishes up Game 3 of the NBA Finals with a 2-1 lead over the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat won Game 3, 88-86 in Dallas’ home court.

Dwayne Wade had a double double banking in 29 big points and 11 rebounds. Lebron James added 17 points and 9 assists while Chris Bosh scored 18 points.

Dirk Nowitzki score 12 straight points for Dallas and this run led to a tie as the 4th quarter (and the game as well) nears it’s end. Nowitzki missed a crucial jumper over Udonis Haslem in the final seconds. Nowitzki finishes the game with 34 points and 11 rebounds. Jason Kidd added 9 points with 10 assists and 6 rebounds.

The first three games have all been very close encounters. That only shows that these two teams are very matched and both are putting their best efforts toward winning a title. Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd have never won an NBA title.

Game 4 will be in Dallas again and the Mavs will be looking for a series tier while the Heat would like to get a 3-1 lead.
