The staging of the 2011 Academy Awards was produced by Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer with the latter also acting as the show’s director. James Franco and Anne Hathaway were tapped to host the prestigious awards night. The Academy Awards 2011 schedule and latest updates are currently being posted in various online websites to provide fans with the newest information as it hits the press. According to sources, the movie The King’s Speech gathered 12 nominations, the most among any of the movies in the list of nominees. This however does not automatically translate to an award for best movie. As previous editions of the Oscars have shown, a dark horse almost always emerges. In the meantime however, The King’s Speech remains a heavy favorite among observers.

Academy awards 2011 schedule and latest updates reveal that the preparation for the event began on November 13, 2010 with the Governors Awards presentation. Other event highlights include the closing of the nominations on January 14, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). By January 25, 2011 the public was made aware of the official nominees for the respective categories. The nominations was announced at 5:30 a.m. PST. By February 22, 2011 the final polls will be considered closed as of 5:00 p.m. PST and by February 27, 2011 we will know the winners per category of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. The announcement of the nominees was made at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills while the actual awarding ceremony will be held at the Kodak Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles. All in all 24 competitive categories will be judged with the winners receiving the prestigious golden trophy as a symbol of excellence in their field.
