It’s the time of the year again where new blood is summoned to the hardcourt. The 2011 NBA Draft is set to take place on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. For this season, the Cleveland Cavaliers will take the first pick. The Minnesota Timberwolves will have the second pick while the Utah Jazz gets the third pick over-all. The Cleveland Cavaliers also gets the fourth pick.

Kyrie Irving was selected as the number one pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving played in Duke for one year where he had an average of 20.5 points per game. Derrick Williams was picked by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the second pick overall. Williams averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game during his sophomore year in Arizona. Enes Kanter of Turkey was drafted by ther Utah Jazz as the 3rd pick overall. Kanter served as a student assistant coach at the university of Kentucky.
